Simon R. Dixon, MBChB, FRACP graduated with high honors and the Douglas Robb prize for overall first place in the 1990 graduating class of the University of Auckland School of Medicine, Auckland, New Zealand. His cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship was completed at Green Lane Hospital in New Zealand. He was awarded Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1998.

He continued interventional cardiology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan in their fellowship program.

Dr. Dixon has special interest in cardiovascular research trials, novel therapies to reduce heart damage during acute heart attacks and new techniques for angioplasty in heart bypass patients. In addition, he has been nationally recognized for research in acute myocardial infarction and coronary artery bypass graft disease.

Dr. Dixon is currently the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and the Co-Director of Cardiovascular Research at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
